Calls studio

Calls studio is the quickest way to get up and running with Sendbird Calls. You can test 1-to-1 calls for Direct call or rooms for Group call directly from the Sendbird Dashboard.

To access Calls studio:

  1. Log in to your Sendbird Dashboard.
  2. Go to your Application > Calls > Calls studio.


1-to-1 call for Direct call

You can make 1-to-1 voice and video calls using a widget in Calls studio or by using the Sendbird Calls app after adding users as your contacts. You can also receive calls from users on the widget.

To make your first call, click Make your first call and complete the following steps:

Step 1 Download Sendbird Calls on your mobile device

Install the Sendbird Calls app on your device to start making calls on web and from your mobile device.

Step 2 Create a user for 1-to-1 call

To make a voice or video 1-to-1 call, create a user. You can call your contacts and receive calls from users by using a widget on the dashboard. Enter a User ID and Nickname. An access token is issued automatically to this user.

Step 3 Add your first contact

Create a user to be added to your contacts, or add an existing user.

Step 4 Sign in to your mobile device

Sign in with a QR code to the Sendbird Calls app on your device.


Room for Group call

You can create rooms in the Calls studio and start voice or video calls with multiple participants after adding users as your contacts. Once created, rooms stay open and available for group calls.

To start a group call, click Start a group call and complete the following steps:

Step 1 Create a user for room

To start a group call in a room, create a user. Once a room is created, it stays open for group calls. Enter a User ID and Nickname.

Step 2 Add your first contact

Create a user to be added to your contacts, or add an existing user.

Step 3 Create your first room

To start a group call, create a room. You can invite other users listed on your contacts to a room for group calls. Enter a Room name and select a Room type:

  • Small video room: Supports voice and video calls with up to six participants in a room.
  • Large audio room: Supports voice calls with up to 100 participants in a room.
