Moderation log

Moderation Log is the ultimate page where all moderation actions that occur in our open channels and group channels are recorded. With a Moderation system like ours, you need a log for every action that has taken place. This is needed as an audit to confirm that the actions taking place are accurate and the reasons of the actions taken are valid.

How it works

This section explains the types of information that is recorded in this Moderation Log.

Log data

Moderated on

Specifies the timestamp of when a specific moderating action took place. The most recent log item is shown at the top.

Events

Specifies the event that triggered the moderation action.

Event details

Specifies the details of the event that triggered the moderation action, such as user name, user ID, message content, and further details are provided when clicked.

Action taken by rules

Specifies the action taken by rules.

Moderator reviewed as

Specifies the review action taken by a human moderator.

Moderated by

Specifies the individual or the system that took the moderating action.
- Moderator name: A human moderator who took the action within a channel.
- Rule: A log item which was automatically moderated by the rules set in Rule Engine.

You can filter what you see in the log to suit your moderating needs, whether it be by date, type of action, sender, etc. The following filters are located at the top of your moderation log.

There are 2 types of additional log information that you can view through a sidebar.

Log information on events that were moderated via Rule engine. You can view rule action details and content details in this sidebar.

Action taken by rules

Indicates that the moderation action was taken automatically by Rules.

Events:
- Lists the events that triggered the ticket. For example, a message being reported.

Action taken:
- Details any automatic actions taken by the system, such as muting a sender for a specified duration.
- Provides a link to view more details about the action taken.

Action taken by rule

Shows detailed information on the initial action taken automatically by Rules.

Events:
- Lists the events that triggered the ticket. For example, a message being reported.

Action taken:
- Details any automatic actions taken by the system, such as muting a sender for a specified duration.
- Provides a link to view more details about the action taken.

Event details

Displays further event details such as the message that was reported, who it was reported by, what the report reason was, and the channel it occurred in.


Moderated via Review Queue

Log information on events that were moderated via Review Queue. You can view ticket details and ticket information in this sidebar.

Moderator reviewed as

Indicates that the moderation action was taken by a moderator through Review Queue.

Moderator decision:
- Lists the moderation actions taken. For example, a message was deleted and the sender was unmuted.

Reviewed by:
- Provides the moderator's name and email, as well as the date and time it was reviewed on.

Event details

Displays further event details such as the message that was reported, who it was reported by, what the report reason was, and the channel it occurred in.
